The Greek Orthodox Community has always strived to help the community around by providing a variety of services such as quality child care, occasional care, aged care, welfare services and Greek Education classes.

The Greek Orthodox Community of NSW Child Care Centre was established in 1979, however expanded to the building next door in 1981 to accommodate 58 children in a long day care setting.

This was one of the first ethnic based not for profit long day care centres to be created in NSW and the government required more community based child care to accommodate the growing need for child care within the community.

The Greek Orthodox Community of NSW then saw a need for Occasional and established one in Marrickville.

The next challenge for the community was finding Before and After school care in Sydney’s Inner west. Therefore the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW is establishing a OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) to lessen the burden on working/studying families in the area.
